Hi all!
We hope everyone is happy and healthy out there!
We usually tell folks that mid-May to mid-June is the busiest time for us as high school teachers. The push to finish curriculum while the world is melting and warming up makes teaching a much higher-energy job. This is when we pull out all the stops with our best activities and labs to help engage the brains of sleepy kids who can almost hear summer calling.
That being said, we had so many laughs and so much joy this week. Let’s break down some of it:
Bunsen is doing GREAT
Bunsen has been coming on walks with Beaker and Bernoulli, and he’s even wanting to run with his buddies. His walking and gait are such that you’d be hard-pressed to see anything wrong with him. I’m just so happy we didn’t need to do surgery and that he gets to join the other dogs on adventures. He’s super content to sit, stand, or lie near the creek’s edge and watch the others frolic in the water. It’s great to include him again in science videos and walks. I’m sure the big guy was getting pretty lonely.
Bernoulli LOVES Swimming
Now that Bernoulli doesn’t thrash-swim, he loves it. He practices in the ponds, swimming back and forth to retrieve sticks we throw him. He also leaps off the banks, making huge waves. I posted a hilarious video of him going after a massive tree left behind by Norbert and his attempts to haul this giant “stick” from the water.
Beaker is a Golden Student
Beaker is our good girl at Waggles (doggie daycare). Sometimes Bernoulli gets a bit humpy and has time-outs, so we occasionally get reports that he was a little too amorous. But every report on Beaker says she’s the bestest good girl. Her personality isn’t as big as Bernoulli’s, and she’s not as “big” as Bunsen, so she occasionally gets lost in the shuffle. But she’s our good, steady girl.
Ginger is LOVING her Catio!
Now that it’s full-on spring and everything is greening up, Ginger has been spending hours in her catio. She loves going out, gets super excited, and is happy to spend a couple of hours on nice days in her enclosure. Perhaps she’s hoping a bird or mouse gets close enough to nab. HA
So that’s the update on the pets! I’m excited to say I’ve completely finished Fun Facts with Bernoulli, the print book, and Kris is proofreading it as we speak. I think it’s some of my best work and has well over 100 amazing facts about our natural world. We also have some adorable content coming out with PrettyLitter and Canada Pooch—so keep an eye out for that! I’m not sure what happened with our video with The Dodo, but they’ve told me it’ll be out soon.
