Yeah, Taco Bell is amazingly popular, even though it has ALWAYS been joked about being the cause of diarrhea. So has McDonald's and, of course, Chipotle. Some people call Taco Bell "Taco Hell" because of this kind of thing.
Even though I was an OB nurse, I’ve always been fascinated with the “bugs” that cause public health crises/pandemics, so I’ve been following this outbreak closely. As of yesterday, Michigan has reported over 3600 cases and has zeroed in on lettuce as the likely culprit and has confirmed it being the same source in 3 other states. This is 31X the normal number of cases in a year for Michigan, so the next question will be, why? And this is why I love science; always the next question, right, Jason? *and the administrations cutbacks has definitely delayed this whole process!

Serious question...do you know if cyclospora is measured in wastewater and/or water sources in Canada?
It is likely not.
We’re not doing wastewater testing in the US. The testing on patients is quite expensive and most people who have it don’t even seek medical care.

I read earlier that Taylor Farms produce is being looked into as a possible source. I know their bagged lettuce recipes are available here in B.C.
Also, I guess it doesn't matter if the product is organic or not?
