Hi we hope you are happy and healthy out there!
Brr! It got this week and you know what that means?
Beaker got to wear her snowpants! It was around -25C and when it’s that cold Beaker’s feet bother her quite a bit after 15 minutes or so in the cold, so the Berner Bros are good to go, and Beaker is in visible pain.
She was THRILLED to wear them this year as she knew exactly what they were for and that they mean she could go into the cold without discomfort!
The dogs ran and dug and had tons of fun for around 40 minutes and it was time to head in because the humans were cold! We just love that we found something that allows Beaker to join the boys when it gets really cold!
A ton of people have been asking how Bernoulli is enjoying the winter and the answer is he is loving it! We catch him from time to time sitting down in the snow as the wind and flakes fall on him, and he looks out over the land. It’s like he’s meditating or taking it all in, or listening to his ancestors speak to him on the wind. It’s just amazing. Bunsen is in his element, and it’s again so joyous to see him dive into the snow as only a few short months ago we were looking at the possibility of facing winter without the big guy around.
Kris has started advent with the dogs and Ginger and the first recording went off amazingly well for adding an extra dog into the mix! Bunsen is the seasoned pro and Bernoulli was a bit off the walls - but there were fancy treats involved so I think that’s to be expected. Ginger actually loved her first toy! Amazing!
Norbert is still alive and well, even with a coyote stalking him/her. It is a big disconcerting that the coyote was back before the big snow, padding around his dam/den. Hopefully Norbert has been doing his pushups and is ready to lay the smack down on it if there is going to be an issue. Another common question was if Kris and I are going to do anything about the coyote - and the answer is…no. It lives down in the wild and isn’t being a pest to us and as hard as it is, we are going to live and let live. If the coyote ventured up to the farm that would be a different story and we do have a rifle to take out pests. My money is on Norbert - he/she is pretty chonky.
The howl in this video set Bunsen OFF. He was ready to throw down in our house with the coyote. He remembered his battle with one. He doesn’t like them and I forgot as I played the video without headphones on.
We have some cyber-Monday deals on our ebooks/audiobooks and nab some of our Black Friday deals before I get around to changing the website back! Ha! I also made an Unleash the Goober shirt which some people had asked about.
Kris and I have three teaching weeks left until Christmas holidays and it’s going to be a marathon! Good thing we have all these wacky animals to keep us on our toes!
