Hi all we hope you are happy and healthy out there!
Oh, hope you all had a happy St. Patrick’s Day!
If you’ve been following us you’ll have probably heard of Waggles - it’s this training facility in Red Deer which has amazing trainers and a wide open place for dogs to go for daycare. We just think they are the best.
Bernoulli is still in his crate when we aren’t home because he eats and chews things (less so now) but we feel it isn’t safe for him to be out and about without supervision. We made the decision to have him in daycare 3 days a week as the midweek of Tuesday to Thursday Kris and I pull long hours at our day job and we were rushing home to get Bernoulli out of his crate on the days Adam couldn’t help us.
Two weeks ago we made the decision for Beaker to also try Waggles. As we have mentioned, she is a COVID puppy and though we tried getting her socialization, it became really tough and as such she is grouchy occasionally with other dogs. She loves people so very much so that has never been an issue, but some dogs just rub her the wrong way. We did a test day to see how she would do, and to our joy, she has had ZERO issues. In fact this week we were told that Beaker made a friend. This is huge news as the only dog she likes is Bunsen, and she tolerates Bernoulli. She is playing with her friend, but also Bernoulli all day.
It’s like the kid who is struggling to make friends figures it out and the teacher tells you that they are flourishing. Tons of warm and happy feelings! YAY!
Bunsen is improving each week, but we don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up that he is back to 100% - though there has been huge improvements. Before the MRI in January he was struggling to get around, with tiny tip tap movements and he was constantly falling, slipping and then flopping, and even falling over when he had to do #1 and #2. It was pretty distressing, and not something we really told people about or showed on social media. Things have drastically improved since then - though he still walks with a tip tap movement on slippery ground, his stride look honestly pretty normal, and he is getting up without slipping 90% of the time. It has been more than a month, and perhaps Bunsen will never get back to 100% without surgery, but we don’t feel he is in as much pain, and is moving so much better. We have until the end of March to slowly increase his activity, he is going on short walks which he loves, and then we will talk to the specialist again about future plans for the big guy.
Bunsen and Ginger have been going out on the deck while I’m off through the woods with Bernoulli and Beaker. Though Bunsen is a bit sad, he loves the ice and snow still on the deck from the snowfalls we’ve had this past week.
We got the prototype of the Bernoulli stuffie and it’s 95% of the way to being perfect! We have a few more tweaks and then it will good to go for Pre-Sale! We have done a Pre-sale for each of our stuffies, and it’s an exciting process! We make sure everyone who pre-orders the stuffie not only gets the best deal, they get a TON of personal touches from Kris and I as the pre-sale finances the stuffie order. We are hopeful to launch that the first week of April after we know what is going to happen with the tariffs in the States - Kris keeps telling me NOT to give things away, but here is what I’m allowed to do - post a photo of the stuffie and the book we are writing which will be bundled with the “Bernoulli’s Principle” pre-sale bundle. I am having SO much fun writing the book - and it will of course be available in our store not attached to the stuffie - but the first people get it will be those in the pre-sale.
Oh and Bernoulli is becoming more and more majestic every day with a huge touch of GOOBER.
On with the rest of the newsletter!
The Science Pawdcast
This episode has an amazing guest AND Kris and I had a ton of fun talking about the science articles. I have to constantly give her a ton of credit. I was totally burnt out of doing the show by myself and thinking about quitting. Having her as a co-host has made doing the show fun again and I hope that comes across in our recordings.

Deal of the Week!
OMG I’m so sorry! The deal of the week sold out in 10 minutes!!! We had 150 gel pens (that write so nice) which I was a dummy and missing a typo on - so we sold them at a discount. It was so popular by the time I posted it on the newsletter and tried to post it on Meta, they were sold out!
I’ll be keeping some of the Deal of The Week’s open - you can check out them on our website. A real popular one is the the three stuffie pack which saves you like 40% or something wild.
We love Berners and have had 4 of the love bugs! All of them were wonderful, and I wish I could have more, but my age has made me rethink that idea!
Love seeing the pictures and hearing about the wonderful adventures you and the animals enjoy. Bernoulli has grown into such a handsome boy but I confess I miss that sweet baby face
