Last weekend and this last week was so busy I ran out of time to do our weekly newsletter.
It was all for a very exciting reason.
Two weeks ago Kris started sending me photos of baby Bernese mountain dog puppies out of context. I laughed it off because I have been sending her puppy photos for a while, trying to get her on team puppy.
Maybe something worked.
Last weekend we found ourselves on a six hour drive to Northern Alberta to meet a couple who had a litter of Bernese Mountain Dog puppies.
OMG were they so cute. This time I held back a bit and I let Kris interact more with them.
A sleepy puppy woke up halfway through the visit and immediately bonded with Kris. He was gentle and kind, with piercing eyes.
We said yes.
On the way home (we had six hours) we debated the name for the new puppy.
It had to start with a B and we debated Beryllium, Barium, Brimstone, Buffer and then Kris said Bernoulli.
I gasped. It was perfect.
Bernoulli was a famous scientist and mathematician who was from Switzerland - just like the Berner breed. His work was with fluids and the main take away is that the faster a fluid moves, the less pressure it has.
His work led to the principles of flight, specifically LIFT.
If anything, our accounts try to be up-lifting.
It’s just so perfect.
Bernoulli joins our family June 1rst and yes we will be spamming everyone and everywhere with photos and videos of the little guy.
That’s not the only news. I had planned on doing the newsletter Monday, but Monday morning we had a scare with Bunsen.
That morning he woke up and was walking with his head tilted sideways and though that quickly went away, all day he was uncomfortable and in pain.
He has been sick before, and everything in Alberta was closed as Monday was a holiday, so Tuesday morning I made a vet appointment for him. By the time we got in to see the vet, Bunsen was fine. Turns out he just had an ear infection.
Sigh! It’s going to be a BIG adjustment but we are excited to share it with you all!
