Hi everyone!
We hope that you had some fun as we said good bye to 2022. For our family, the weather has warmed up which allowed for sledding and skiing around the farm.
Bunsen can’t believe his luck as we have spent hours outside in the snow. It’s amazing how the lazy couch bear comes alive with energy and puppy buzzes because of the snow.
What has filled my heart full is that Beaker is now my constant cross country skiing companion. As Kris doesn’t ski, Bunsen heads out with her on a snowshoe walk, but Beaker books it with me on huge runs through the creek and farmland. It’s something I did constantly with our Golden, Kahlan who we had before Bunsen.
Our family spent New Years with my dad and the Ukrainian family. Marina, the mom, put on a Ukrainian feast for us that we HAD to attend at 3PM and we were all confused as to why. Silly me, it was the time in Ukraine that the New Year was happening. Marina said that people eat and laugh and dance for days after New Years so she was taken back by how laid back our normal celebrations were.
We got to try some “fish eggs on bread” which is something Marina’s family would have pre-war as a treat. I was a little worried about it, but it was delicious! It' was some kind of fish egg (caviar?) but it was lost in translation where the eggs came from.
Since the day after Christmas, I have been working hours on the Texts From Bunsen audio book and it is NEARLY complete. It was massive effort to record all the texts but also in the voices of different creatures. Kris and I have had hours of fun couple time belting out conversations between Beaker and Bunsen - with tons of bloopers.
Here is one of our bloopers (it doesn’t have the voice change for Bunsen):
Here is another piece of audio!
Also Kris has been working on reformatting the ebook of Texts From Bunsen into a format for print! That’s right…look for the print copy of Texts From Bunsen later in January!
We have also set up a TEXTING service for our Paw Pack members where they getting ACTUAL texts from Bunsen and Beaker each week! Check the bottom of the newsletter for more about that! Here is an example:
The last thing I’ll tease is something The Paw Pack knows all about…and that is…
we are working on Ginger Stuffie! It’s in the prototyping phase and it’s coming along SO GOOD. Here is a sneak peak:
Prototyping the stuffie takes a ton of back and forth with the template artist…it’s getting close! What do you think?
Finally, Kris and I are off to Las Vegas for a couples retreat for 3 days on Tuesday. It’s coming fast and I’m excited as we have been working so very hard since the pandemic and haven’t gone anywhere together. I’m not a gambler…but hey it’s gotta be a bit warmer than Alberta. What are some things you’d suggest we do?
Ok! Here’s the rest of the Newsletter!
