I'm so happy you can kiss Brix for all of us every day. Hugs and snuggles to all of you.

I have many rescues but also shelter, feed and heat, if needed, any stray or feral cat who chooses to stay in the kennels I have. At Christmas one of those strays who had become a regular, decide to move into our home. She had a scab on her ear which we thought was from fighting as she was a big white feisty madam. After 4 months the scab started to worsen. Visit to the vet found out it was skin cancer, common in white cats. We're not wealthy and the op was going to cost initially £1000. We found the funds and arranged the op. Sadly the cancer was very aggressive and had already progressed well inside her ear. It was inoperable. I held her in my arms as she crossed 🌈 bridge Friday 29th May.

I cried many times over the days as she had made a huge impact on my heart. Then a week ago she came to me in a dream. I woke knowing I had to help an older cat with problems. Tomorrow we go to collect Miss B to bring her home but in between we have an appointment to meet Klaus. A 6 year old black make cat with neurological problems which sometimes affect his walking. He needs to be a house cat. If he chooses me, he will come home with us and Miss B.

We have rain and rain and mosquitoes and, did I mention rain in Saskatchewan, too? It's kind of ridiculous. We've been told for years we are headed toward becoming a desert and now we have floods and soggy ground. It is better than sand dunes.

The critters. I was fine until the last photo, and then my heart got full and spilled over. Nothing. Just ❀️❀️❀️. πŸ₯°

You are so busy! I hope you and Kris are able to breathe and relax. School is out. Brix is home. Your pack is together. Our pack is together. πŸ’œ

I relived my dog’s really bad illness along with Brix and you both. Cassie came through and I felt the same joy & relief when Brix survived. It filled my heart with peace & love.

Happy Canada Day. Here in the USA we are not having the big joyous 4th we thought we would have, just 2 years ago. We are in our own ICU right now.

Nova Scotia is stunning. I remember having Digby Chicks while we waited for the ferry to New Brunswick years ago.

Thank you for keeping The Pack safe and sharing all your adventures. ❀️

So glad to see that Brix is recovering well. Years ago, I went through 2 years of treatment for my much-loved dog, only to lose him anyway, so I know how painful it is to have a sick pet that you're devoted to.

So, so happy Brix is still doing well and getting back to his old self!

A note on the mosquito situation. Have you tried a Thermacell? They are a god send! I have a portable one for when I'm out wandering and a table top one for camping or just hanging out outside. They'll keep the mosquitoes away from you but also the pups, by proximity. I got mine at Canadian Tire, but you can get them lots of places.

Oh yes, and happy Canada Day! If you'd like to send some of that moisture over the Rockies, we'd be grateful in the super dry Okanagan! Lol

I thoroughly enjoyed every word of this newsletter. Could sadly relate to the mosquito army since I lived in Florida for too long before moving to Oregon. Just want to reiterate how incredibly happy I am that Brix is doing so well - that was such a scary journey for everyone who follows you and loves your pets. We breathed a collective sigh of relief at his recovery and were so happy that you and Kris could finally relax a little. I have two cats of my own. My last dog passed in 2022 at the age of 15 and I still miss him. I'm a long-time animal shelter volunteer - I can't get enough of being around critters. Hugs to you, Kris and all your furkids.

Bunsen's retired? Oh no, but I understand.

I'm so glad Brix is doing well - someone in our neighborhood has the same kind *brain freeze* of cat, and he's run away and they're so upset as it's been weeks now. I know you know how lucky you are. And yes, I have diabetes now - twice...lol

On a more personal note, I'm glad you and Kris can share different beliefs peaceably. That can be a hard thing to come by.

What a wonderful family you all are πŸ₯Ή Enjoy Nova Scotia as I used to follow a couple of people, who were the nicest folks, on the former platform now known as X. I hope our 250 celebration is peaceful and civil! Meowers to Brix and woof to the puppers

I’m ugly crying at that last photo Kris took of you holding Brix. 😭😭🩷🩷

I think it was the whole universe and all the prayers and good thoughts said to God that helped Brix get through something bad and the positive energy was really strong pulling for that little cat and I’m glad that everything turned out OK.

I myself being Catholic, prayed to the Virgin Mary because they say if the Son is busy, then pray to the Mom!πŸ’™πŸ™ lol

So happy Brix is now back home recuperating and that you’re all watching him closely. I know you’re both probably sleeping with one eye open and sighing big relief. πŸ’•

Wishing you the best time in Nova Scotia I know you and Kris will have a blast and you will have something fun to talk about when you get back. Can’t wait to hear. Go poutine!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It warms my heart to see all the dogs on your creek walks in your raincoats and especially Bunsen who still likes to go. I love that Big Bear so much!🩷

Love all the Pack, ALSO. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Happy Canada Day to you all and all our friends from Canada. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ©·πŸ©·πŸΎπŸΎ
