Out of the freezer
and into the melt
The psycho temperatures we saw at the beginning of January, faded at least for the moment. It was 10ºC today! Wow! So..in the span of three weeks we have had a temperature swing of -50ºC to 10ºC - that’s SIXTY DEGREES! Today Kris and I took the dogs for an epic meandering walk through the creek, stopping to play in the snow, and explore the winter wonderland with weather you could almost wear shorts in!
A big development this week has been Beaker’s SNOWPANTS! She didn’t need them today, but earlier this week it was still freezing and she LOVES them!
We have booties for her (Muttlucks) but they fly off in deep snow. Her snowpants allow her to rock the snow like Bunsen without a care in the world. She was SO happy and was unbothered by being in the snow. Normally she get snow balls in her feet OR they get really cold and she bites and sucks at them. I think these snow pants are one of our most favourite things we have purchased because they bring joy to a creature that we love so very very much.
The January break is nearly coming to a close, and I’m excited to bring The Science Pawdcast back with new episodes starting in February, and our live show - Scichat returns!
You may have noticed an increase in the quantity of our video content. It is a family goal of ours to expand our reach into social media platforms that favour video like Instagram and Tik Tok. Kris has taken over the Threads account and is doing great there with fun posts and engaging conversation.
Please let us know when you see content of ours that you like, and and content that isn’t your favourite! We love building stuff that people also like! Ha!
That being said Kris and I have a busy end of February as we will be team presenting at teacher’s conventions in Alberta!
OH - and Norbert is still kicking! We found a beaver chewed hole and fresh wood chips! Norbert busted up out of the ice and continues to do beaver things in the dead of winter! I set up the wildlife camera to maybe get Norbert HULKING out of the ice!
