We went through loss of our blue heeler few years ago. She been through a big move from Az to Idaho. With Hal family & her kids stayed in Az. She helped my brother here when he got hurt she was by his side. If you sat down on steps you got a paw sometimes down your back. She lived to be 17 yrs old. She was a rescue dog kind of. Owner did hunting she didn’t like it. Never liked guns or fireworks. She would find ways to escape to get away from the sounds. She tried climbing a wooden fence. Couldn’t do it. So she found weakest boards popped them or broke them to get away from sound. After she died we to tried dealing w/o a pet. Yes it was to quiet and boring. We looked didn’t find right dog. I seen one online. Inquired about her. Nobody knew where she was at. She was being fostered by a private person. We thought maybe she had been adopted nobody returned calls. Finally we got an answer asking if we were still interested in seeing her. Said yes. She is a Shiba Inu/Australian cattle dog. Small like shiba but packs her own punch. Don’t let her size fool you. She’s not afraid of any bigger dog. They come at her she will take them down. She’s so sweet & fun. Full of love. She has the special touch and most people fall in love with her. Some don’t even have to see her & they love her. She filled our hearts as filled hers. She’s a very happy girl. She chose us as we chose her. She was to meet another family but we were her first and last. She was a rescue dog that came to Boise w/ a group of other dogs to find new homes. She knew this was her home. So happy to have her. She doesn’t just choose she chooses both. She packs her own punch and will not do something she doesn’t want to do. Her name is cali. She 9 yrs young. Love her beyond. So yes we understand how it feels to loose a best friend

I had the honor to be the humom to a lovely, lively Golden named Tillicum. She was always a bundle of energy, giving doggie kisses whenever she could, cuddling next to me when I was sad, teaching me more than I ever taught her. Her favorite treat was licking the plate that had held my pizza after I had eaten every bite. It held only the essence of pizza, but that was good enough for her. We hiked the beaches and water on the coast of Maine where the water was around 52°F, and clambered up the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She loved riding in the car with me, guarded with a throaty soft growl when she met someone she didn't like but loved visiting almost anyone. For 13 years we traveled the country, had "conversations" about our adventures and just generally loved life and each other. I can still picture her on a stormy beach, ears and tongue flapping in the wind, having a wonderful time retrieving sticks in the waves. I still miss her!
