Thanks for reporting, Jason. Always the teacher and scientist and great communicator (and writer), you educate us while you paint an amazing word picture for us. Enjoy the remaining days in eastern Canada and best wishes for the flight home. Your pets are waiting to greet you with love and kisses and purrs.

Wow, what a great update!! Fascinating information. Although, being in the older person category, I will live vicariously through the pack family! Whoever planned your trip (Kris?) did an amazing job. Thanks so much, and can't wait for the reunion update!

I know that feeling of leaving pets behind and the pics of little Brix in the suitcase 😭

But being on a human family vacation is the best with memories for a lifetime! Thank you for sharing with us and giving us some hints of places to go when we go back to Nova Scotia next!!

PS: moose legs have arrived - grand dogs are ecstatic!!

I grew up in NS and LOVE hearing how people explore the area. Sounds like an amazing time! And the best part - you get to be excited about being reunited with your furry clan! Maybe they need their own tartan… 😉 Thanks for sharing!

Nova Scotia Sounds amazing. I’ve always wanted to visit that area but sadly have only made it to Ontario to go fishing. One of these days. 🤘😎

We did a Maritimes trip the first two weeks of October last year and absolutely loved it. We drove from southwestern Ontario up through Toronto and Kingston and through southern Quebec and on into New Brunswick, P.E.I. and Nova Scotia. Loved all three provinces, our first time that far east too. We drove the entire Cabot Trail, did several hikes, the most incredible one being The Skyline Trail (a must for when you go back!) all in glorious weather with take-your-breath-away/reduce-you-to-tears vistas. Also yes, on the friendly people! And those Bay of Fundy tides—next time go to Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park and have your 🤯 at seeing those highest in the world tides—you literally walk on the ocean floor one day and then see it covered in many metres of ocean water. You make me want to go back right now! But we want to go to Newfoundland next so we’ll have been to all ten provinces in our beautiful country. (Loved what you wrote about the Bluenose II —we feel that way too).

what a great trip! i remember a camping trip up that way - too short. but Bay of Fundy and Hopewell rocks was amazing to experience! we went on a whale watching tour and the company knew where Northern Right Whales were hanging out. he just stopped the boat and the whales came to check us out. will never forget the sound they made with the air blowing out. one of my favorite musicians is Natalie McMaster - loved her zoom concerts she did in early years of covid - got to see some of the surrounding landscape of Cape Breton.

How wonderful! I wondeer if you heard any of the incredible Celtic music Cape Breton has to offer. My husband and I drove the entire Cabot Trail! Unfortunately it was covered in fog the whole way. But the food, atmosphere and friendliness of the folks made up for that. I trust you'll experience the ever famous happy dance of the pets on your return!

Novo Scotia is now firmly on my list for next time we make it to Canada. The most amazing country I have ever visited. 🇨🇦

PS Meant to say yay for travelling Porter! We’ve been using them for our trips from Windsor to Edmonton for the past 2-3 years now and they’re terrific in all ways. 🇨🇦
